Rathlin Island (10093402) - County Antrim
This is a photograph of the South Lighthouse (known locally as the Rue Light) as seen from the nearby cliffs. It was from these cliffs in 1642 that clan Campbell soldiers hurled scores of clan MacDonalds to their deaths down a gully now known as Sloak-na-Calliagh. The numbers killed in this massacre has been put as low as 100 to as high as 3000.
