Bengore Head, Causeway Headlands (08059255)

Bengore Head stands as one of the Causeway Coast's proudest headlands. This photograph was taken from a rarely visited position below the cliffs themselves. In the foreground you can see a crazy pavement of solidified lava, created when volcanic eruptions dominated the landscape and later weathered by the ocean. High on the cliffs you can see the regular patterns of the columnar basalts created from later eruptions where the lava cooled more slowly.
