This photograph was taken from Castlehill Point, looking back towards Rockcliffe and the Rough Firth at sunset. In the center of the photograph is Rough Island, a National Trust bird reserve which can be visited on the low tide. The island is accessed across a causeway from Kippford. In the background, the hill of Bengairn can be seen.
