Sunset, Ballintoy (09050351) - County Antrim
The spectacular volcanic coastline around Ballintoy Harbour is a fascinating place to explore. At certains times it can resemble a land that time forgot. The massive volcanic sea stacks and cliffs act as a line of defense against the huge power of the ocean as it hits the coast here. When the tide is low it is possible to walk round to Whitepark Bay, one of the finest beaches in Ireland. This photograph was taken just to the west of Ballintoy, looking towards the ancient stacks.
