Dunluce Castle (08049038)

Dunluce Castle (Dun Lios in Irish) lies on the coast road east of Portrush towards Portballintrae. It is a fine example of a medieval castle ruin and is one of the finest in Northern Ireland. The castle was built by Richard de Burgh, Earl of Ulster, in the 1200s. The castle later became the home of the MacQuillin clan in 1513 and then later to the MacDonnell clan. It is now owned by the Environment and Heritage Service.
